My name is Camille.

I am a screenwriter and director based out of Los Angeles, California. I was raised in both Brooklyn, New York and Southern Vermont. With a cinematographer as a father, I have always had a interest in cinema. Although I first dreamt of being a classical dancer, upon entering college I found myself entranced with the psychological aspect of presenting stories on screen. I hope to make films rooted in realism with always just a hint of the supernatural. My childhood moving around consistently gave me a sense of having a non distinct geographical identity, which is reflected in my interest in writing stories in international spaces.

The biggest influence on my filmmaking and writing has been my introduction into slow cinema. I have found great comfort in the films of Andrei
Tarkovsky, Edward Yang, Belà Tarr and Wong Kar-wai. I would love to find a way to introduce modern audiences to slow paces, light dialogue, and existential themes. I hope to bring this narrative format to popularity.

After attending Hunter College in NYC for two years, I was accepted into the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts Film Production Program. I have written and directed multiple short films as well as worked with my peers on their work. I have written features as well as turned my favorite novels into screenplays. I hope to write and direct all of my own narratives as well as bring to life important texts that have yet been written for the screen.

"I know the world is bruised and bleeding, and though it is important not to ignore its pain, it is also critical to refuse to succumb to its malevolence. Like failure, chaos contains information that can lead to knowledge — even wisdom. Like art."                                                                                                                                                                        - Toni Morrison
